Great View; Musty, Moldy House
Reviewed on Saturday, May 7, 2016
Gorgeous view and location, but upon entering the house the smell of mold and mildew is strong and any time you close the windows (which are mostly broken) the smell becomes overwhelming. The smell got into everything we brought: all clothing, leather bags, shoes, even our hair brushes, daughter's hairbands, our suitcases. I've washed everything 3 times and we are still smelling that mold on them. The floors were constantly slimy-feeling. I think they need to get mold professionals in to fix this issue. The beds are NOT queen-sized as advertised. They are full-sized and on the verge of falling apart. No coffee maker, had to go out and buy one because we were desperate. The outside of the house was pleasant for sitting and hanging out.

House was clean and well furnished including outdoor patio furniture and a fun room for kids with books and indoor toys. Found plenty of beach chairs, kids toys, boogies boards etc. provided as well. AC worked great - bathrooms sparkling.
Pelican Pass Experience

We had a very good time during our week at Pelican Pass. We have discussed our next visit. I would confirm that the refrigerator will be on and that the musty odor, that was quite strong, would not be an issue. The freezer worked very well but the refrigerator did not get as cold as it should. Other than those concerns, we enjoyed Pelican Pass and all the Dolphins and Pelicans we saw the whole week. We'll be back.

Location, location ,location !! Wanted to be directly on the beach and this couldn't of been closer! We spent a relaxing week in this cute beach cottage! Well equipped with all you need ! Lots of towels, beach toy's , the kayak was a huge hit!! The kitchen had all you needed ! The place was clean but could do with a thorough spring cleaning and paint touch up! Fans look a bit tired and shabby!,Suggest at least one king size bed, my son is 6ft 3 and was very uncomfortable in a queen , no need for two bedside tables!! The kids room is adorable ! Great restaurants close by!
Will be back next year!,

We stayed here two years ago and enjoyed it so much we came back for two weeks this year. Bottom line, it's a great location with just about everything you'd need and not a lot you don't. Clean, comfortable and absolutely perfectly seated on the beach itself. Only (minor) drawbacks is the place doesn't seem to have been quite as well maintained this trip as the last -- amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie-boards were generally broken, damaged or otherwise unusable, yet still pile in the storeroom as though viable. The phone system seemed to not be hooked up (problematic with dodgy cell reception in the area), and time, salt and wind have conspired against the paint and metal fixtures -- maybe time for minor repair and refit work. These are fairly small quibbles in an otherwise lovely experience, however.

My family and I enjoyed our stay and the view is even more breathtaking than advertised!! My only suggestion is to add more kitchen items (pots, bowls etc). We would definitely love to come back!

Perfect place for elderly parents we traveled with. 1 story home, same level from driveway to house to backyard. Only stairs were from backyard to beach. Nice outdoor seating on east side of home. Close to st Augustine. Comfortable furniture.

We had a awesome time at this house , it is beautiful and the location is perfect. This house little kid friendly , however I would recommend that this house have hotel locks on the top of the doors to make it totally secure for small children , update mattresses and install a gate going down to the beach . This house has awesome views of the beach from almost every rooom.
Pelican Pass Beach House

This property lives up to it's name. Pelicans flying over in great numbers. The location of this house is amazing, right on the secluded beach. Very few people. Close to St. Augustine and it's many historic tours and amazing restaurants. The house itself is cute and comfortable, but does need some TLC. It also needed a good cleaning. I don't know what is done between guests by the rental agency, but the house could use some deep cleaning once in awhile.

It was a great time with great family and the amenities were adequate and comfortable. Just wasn't long enough. Having said that, I only have one complaint, the phone reception needs improvement.
Now that's what I call a beach house

We wanted a house on the beach so we could chill out, listen to the waves and watch the sea birds. Pelican Pass delivered on this. The house is tastefully and comfortably decorated and furnished. The kitchen was well equipped. We really liked the close proximity to a supermarket and some very good local restaurants. We wanted to be near St. Augustine as we thought we would need to travel to the shops and to restaurants but we felt Ponte Vedra gave enough options. The local nature trail at the Potomac river was like paradise with huge butterflies and a variety of birds.

Nice clean comfy cottage with great ocean view and direct beach access, with ample outdoor space. Only negative (which was a big one for me unfortunately necessitating cutting my stay short) is I had absolutely no cell service at the house. This was true for both Verizon and AT&T.

Overall it was a very good stay. I love the location, the view, the rooms and layout. I will return next year. Here are a few disappointments:
1. I have stayed here before and there were grills to use, but not this time.
2. The front door needs some serious adjustments as it was a challenge to open and lock/unlock.
3. There was some sand on the fabric chairs and a little on the sheets.
4. The vent in the master bedroom needs cleaning.
5. The outside rocking chairs are broken.
Had an amazing time!!!

Pelican Pass was amazing, paradise by the beach! The staff was amazing, when I called to advise that I did not have a BBQ grill, they delivered one within hours. The only thing that needs to updated is the dish washer. We cant wait to come back!

Our vacation was beyond amazing and majority of that is due to the location of this property- with 4 kids we found this property to be exactly what we wanted. We were steps away from the sand so anytime the kids had to go to the bathroom or grab a snack we didnt have to pack up for a long haul back to the room- they simply ran up the stairs. My husband and I really enjoyed the yard area- as we were able to pull a blanket out and star gaze while the kids slept- never would we have had alone time without a property like this. We will be booking the same house again next year- this was a dre vacation for us, and thanks goes to the location of this home. Private beaches even allowed us to play ball in the sand and let the kids run and explore without worry. Highly recommend this property!

Loved the cottage on the ocean. Staff are very helpful. I would suggest to review and check up on cleaning staff. We were charged way too much for cleaning after our rental. Left the place cleaner then what it was.

The house was fantastic. While the home is modest in size, slept 8 comfortably. The proximity of the house to the beach was unreal, and well represented in photos! Furnishings were up to date and the home was well maintained. Would definitely choose this location again.
