Summer Place 671, Studio, Beach, Pool, Sleeps 2
Escape to a charming beach retreat at our studio condo at Summer Place 671. Just a short hop to the beach, it's the ideal getaway for a single or couple seeking the comforts of a fine resort, plus world-class golf, shopping, sightseeing, and fine dining!
Our condo is warm-toned, comfortable, and very cozy. Everything is in one room, with a lovely balcony at one end, a full bathroom on the side, and even a laundry area tucked behind the kitchen! Economical in its use of space, it never feels cluttered, and it's got everything you need for a great vacation.
The main attraction is the balcony, which extends out toward the treetops, with a covering to shield against the hottest sun. You have a lush, tropical view here, and we've fitted it with a grill, table, and chairs for casual dining. This is the place you'll linger over your morning coffee and your evening wine, enjoying the balmy air, listening to the distant murmur of the waves, and soaking in the Florida sunshine. And if you should try your hand at fishing, you just might be cooking the catch of the day!
Just inside from the sliding glass doors to the patio is our sleeping area, with a luxurious king-sized bed. The views from this bed are amazing, and if you leave the blinds open one night, you'll feel as though you're in a treehouse! (It's also a great way to catch a glimpse of the colorful sunrise.) Ultra-comfortable, it's surrounded by windows. You'll want to retire early and sleep late in this bed!
Opposite the bed is a folding table for dining in or working on the laptop (you have complimentary wireless Internet at Summer Place 671). It's also just the right size for a quick game of gin rummy and makes a nice place to spread out the brochures for all the sightseeing attractions you want to visit. So much to see and do!
Beyond the sleeping area is our living room, with a very restful couch and easy chair facing a big TV with DVD player. In one corner of this room is a tabletop and chair beneath a large mirror, suitable for use as a desk or a vanity. For a studio, Summer Place 671 offers a lot of usable spaces!
The galley-style kitchen is adjacent to the living area, and you'll appreciate the convenience and facilities in this room. A breakfast bar doubles as a serving hatch, while full-size appliances and plenty of cupboards ensure that you have what you need to prepare and serve just about anything. In a side room, the refrigerator is tucked beside the washer and dryer. It's all here at Summer Place 671 -- from cookware and dishes down to utensils and glassware. All you need is groceries!
And speaking of convenient, Summer Place 671 comes complete with all the fresh linen, blankets, pillows, and towels you need. It's a quick-and-easy getaway, fully equipped for a great beach and golf vacation. We've tried to think of everything you need to make your stay comfortable and catered!
Of course, the best part of Summer Place 671 is its location. Ponte Vedra is convenient to both Jacksonville and St. Augustine, a sleepy beach town known for golf and luxury spas and resorts. The beach here is heavenly, the pace slow, the scenery beautiful. Whether you're staying close to Sawgrass Beach Club or venturing out into the many attractions of northeast Florida, you will love your time at Summer Place 671!

Don't let the title fool you. The pool is a 6 minute DRIVE away. The beach access is a short block away. Sadly we wasted a day of our week trying to ascertain where our access was as the beach access across the street was locked and the other beach ramps were posted for members only or locked. The actual beach access is to the right of the sawgrass country club but appears to be part of the club. There were no directions from the condo owner or rental company, who, at one point told me that there was no beach or pool without paying the extra fee. They were so clueless about the property and so unhelpful that we had to drive over to their office to get an answer. 9 hours wasted and a beautiful beach day wasted! So let me help you out. The space is perfect for a couple. The kitchen was adequate, the washer and dryer super tiny. The carpet was very worn, the linens barely adequate. The balcony was nice but what they failed to tell you in the highly inaccurate description is that the view through a tree is of the guard gate. You listen to hundreds of cars driving through the gate - trucks beeping, guards shouting.... NOT peaceful or quiet. What a laugh that the claim was that you could hear waves crashing! Had we known all this in advance and not wasted a day, we may have chosen to rent but we came away angry and feeling we had been cheated. The price was reasonable and if you plan to do a temporary sawgrass membership, the condo may be for you. I would have a difficult time ever renting from vacation rental pros (who were NOT pros) again.

We arrived at the condo. Wanted to go to the pool. Called the rental office and no one could tell me if we had a pool or not. Found out there is no pool for this location. never got a call back from the rental office either. As far as condition goes it was mediocre at best. Wall all need fresh paint, carpet was dirty, sliding glass door will not close properly etc., etc. etc.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time in Florida and found the condo to suit my purposes just fine. I had been notified ahead of time that the bathroom was in a state of being re-modeled. this proved to not be an issue at all, I had everything I needed. I was unable to log-on to the wireless, but I had my own internet access from ATT.

Overall experience was very good. Nice space and mostly clean.
Only cons were that there was a slat missing from the blinds upon our arrival, and it took 2 days and several calls to get it fixed.
Also, 1/2 of the heating elements don't work on the toaster. We didn't report that because it wasn't a big deal to us. The bathroom could definitely use an updating (peeling wallpaper, loose towel rack, rust) and the carpet could use a good deep cleaning.
Nice space in general, but didn't realize it was up 15 stairs when I booked, and it doesn't get a lot of sunlight, and the view is of the gate house.

Enjoyed the appartment, the beach and the Beach Club. Everyone was very helpful. However, unless you have a car, it is very isolated from the rest of town - suggestion to future travellers from other countries - hire a car to get about - otherwise you are stuck!
unit needed some repairs and upgrades

The A/C unit had restrictions of 74 which left it too warm at night and had a small drip needing a bowl to collect water. TV needs an upgrade to Flat screen and a more comprehensive cable package. Wall paper peeling off in bathroom, shower head was corroded and needs to be replaced. Location was good, inside a gated community very close to beach
